Framework & Methodologies

Opportunity Discovery Pipeline (ODP)

Summary

Designed and implemented the Opportunity Discovery Pipeline (ODP), a structured framework for identifying, documenting, evaluating, and prioritizing opportunities across entrepreneurship, technology, and long-term strategic objectives.

Context

While pursuing entrepreneurship and long-term goals related to leverage, influence, and life-extension initiatives, I observed that opportunities, observations, and potential problems were frequently lost, poorly documented, or evaluated inconsistently. Existing approaches often relied on memory, random exploration, or informal note-taking rather than a repeatable decision-making process.

My Role

Sole architect and developer of the framework, methodology, documentation structure, classification systems, and evaluation process.

Key Contributions

• Designed a two-stage opportunity evaluation system consisting of a Macroscopic Feasibility Search and Microscopic Feasibility Analysis.

• Created a structured workflow for identifying, documenting, and categorizing opportunities across multiple industries, environments, and levels of complexity.

• Developed classification systems for frustrations, inefficiencies, bottlenecks, unmet needs, and recurring questions.

• Built an evaluation framework incorporating access, problem severity, validation confidence, personal return on investment, and ease of testing.

• Established standardized documentation and status-tracking procedures to improve continuity and reduce idea loss.

• Integrated strategic considerations such as skill development, resource acquisition, network growth, leverage, and long-term goal alignment.

Challenges

The primary challenge was creating a framework that remained simple enough for consistent use while still providing sufficient structure to evaluate complex opportunities across diverse domains.

Result

Produced a fully documented and operational methodology currently being used to support opportunity discovery, prioritization, and strategic decision-making. The framework provides a repeatable process for evaluating potential projects and entrepreneurial opportunities while maintaining long-term alignment with broader objectives.

Skills Demonstrated

Systems design, strategic planning, process architecture, decision frameworks, documentation systems, entrepreneurship, opportunity evaluation, organizational thinking.
